Recorded at an upstairs open window at 05:30 in april 2020 using a rode mic and a zoom h4n recorder. The usual birds are there plus the call of a pheasant, a resident of the field at the bottom of the garden. There's a low frequency ambient background. I think this was coming from a distant paper mill several miles away.

I wanted to record the fountain sound as well, but the fountain had already been turned off. You can hear some bird, rustling of the wind in the trees and traffic in the distance. These were recorded may 26 2007, about two weeks after the first spring peepers (pseudacris crucifer) were heard in the area. A dog in a distant garden can be heard barking a couple of times in this recording, but if anyone needs a clean recording i can probably find another, similar-length section of the original without extraneous sound. Or it could probably be edited out without too much trouble.

Approx. 0650hrs, early march 2021. Put my recorder in the open bathroom window. I had to have the gain up higher than i wanted as the sparrows are down in the side garden about 30 yards away. The crow sounds closer, perhaps on our neighbour's roof. Collared doves also cooing but faint. The sound of our boiler is in the background.

I was fortunate enough to spend a month staying with a project called the dewe school of art based in the village. I took this recording while i was alone in the project gardens at night. Recording during a strong autumn storm, with heavy rain, in a large garden, surrounded by big pine trees. The wind was so strong, that i had a fear that one of the branches of the pines could snap and fall on me. The recording is a 32bit float, 48khz ms-stereo one, made with a sennheiser mkh 416, and ambient ate 308 emesser figure of eight, in a røde blimp with fur cover. I was amazed that the blimp did its job this good in this strong wind.
